The workshop will offer insight into the neurodivergent experience that has been expanding in recent years. The intersection of neurodivergence and eating disorders ranges from 'typical' presentations of anorexia, bulimia, and more recently ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder). It's also important to note the disordered eating (DE) and not just eating disorders (ED) occur more often in neurodivergent folk. This presentation looks at how to assess these patterns as well as the types of skills, and other care, that can help folks maintain a more balanced life with nutrition.
Objectives:

a)  Clarify eating disorder (ED) from disordered eating (DE)

b)  Cultivate assessment skills to determine when additional care is needed; ie higher level of care, dietitian, occupational therapy, etc.

c)  Learn about the strength of the neurodivergent brain and skills ND folks can use to manage symptoms related to their ED/DE.
