Take 5:  Five Actions that Lower Stress Levels and Boost Energy

Time:  12 noon - 1:00pm

CE Offered:  1 Core hour

When was the last time you took a five-minute break from work? Did you feel refreshed, energized, and ready to return to the tasks on your desk? Did you physically return only to be mentally absent? Would not it have been nice if your five-minute break gave you exactly what you needed to complete the tasks you started?

Stress is draining. We use more energy and tend to function with less efficiency when stress levels are at their peak. Unfortunately, social workers have constant, stressful work demands that pull them in multiple directions, often at the same time.

Take 5: Five Actions that Lower Stress Levels and Boost Energy will show you how to use your breaks in a way that will help you get through the day.

Outcomes:

At the end of the training, participants will be able to

  • Explain how the stress response affects the body and mind.
  • Understand the different types of responses that influence stress levels.
  • Describe the health benefits of each of the five actions.
  • Begin to incorporate each of the actions into their daily routines.

Handouts:

Each participant will have access to a downloadable work booklet to follow during the presentation.
