Here are some questions which our chapter addressed that you may find helpful:
1) Which LCSW is required to take the psychopathology course?
ONLY those LCSW who meet the following criteria: LESS than 10-years direct practice experience prior to April 26, 2016. LESS than 10 years of direct practice experience working with people clients that have mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities. Currently NOT in good standing with the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists.
2) In the 1980s, I received “grandfather” status as an LCSW. Does the LMSW before LCSW requirement apply to me?
Georgia Composite Board for Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists started in the 1980s and LMSW/LCSW licensure did not officially exist before then in Georgia. Many social workers in the 1980s with an MSW and clinical training/experience qualified as LCSW and “grandfathered in”.
3) If I have less than 10 years of direct practice experience before April 26, 2016, working with mental health, substance abuse and disability clients, do I need to take the psychopathology course?
Only if you cannot show proof that you took a psychopathology course in a CSWE accredited MSW program.

5) Do the10 years of experience have to be after the LCSW?
No, but only if in the 10-year period the LCSW
a) have taken the psychopathology course at a CSWE accredited MSW program and
b) were engaged in directed practice and supervision with your LMSW and you were working towards taking the LCSW.
6) How many hours is the psychopathology course?
