Brief Description:Â "Ethics 20/20" will help participants focus on key ethical issues that need to be addressed for prudent practice. Participants will look at common practice assumptions that can cause ethical traps and suggestions for ethical practice. The presentation will be via lecture with PowerPoint, Case Examples and Attendee Discussion and Participation.Â
Bio: Â Jan N. Yates has over 40 years of experience working in Social Work. She has worked in Inpatient Mental Health, O/P Therapy, Hospice, and Crisis Services as a clinician, supervisor, and administrator. She has held faculty positions at Tift College, Wesleyan College and University of Georgia School of Social Work. She has provided consultation for nursing homes and dialysis centers as well as supervised social work staff and interns. She is past and current president of the Georgia Chapter of NASW and has been a member and chair of the Composite Board for the state of Georgia. She is a Qualified Clinical Social Worker with NASW; a Board Certified Diplomat; a Georgia State Licensed Clinical Social Worker; a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers; she has Advanced Standing in Clinical Hypnosis and Advance training in Psychodrama. Jan is married and, with her husband, has a menagerie of rescued cats and dogs. She is retired but involved in various volunteer activities, including providing training, supervision, and consultation for Daybreak, an organization with DePaul USA that provides a wide range of services for homeless individuals. She is a member of The Alliance of Therapy Dogs, with a certified therapy dog.

Follow Interstate 75 to Exit 163. Turn right off of exit ramp. At the
second traffic light turn left onto College Street. Turn right on
Prince Street which is located between the School of Engineering and
School of Medicine. Turn Left at stop sign. Parking is available behind the School of Medicine
building.
INTERSTATE 75 FROM ATLANTA
Follow Interstate 75 to Exit 163. Turn left off of exit ramp. At the
second traffic light turn left onto College Street. Turn right on
Prince Street which is located between the School of Engineering and
School of Medicine. Turn Left at stop sign. Parking is available behind the School of Medicine
building.
FROM I-16; HEADING WEST (FROM SAVANNAH) Take I-16 West until it merges
with I-75 South. Â Follow Interstate 75 to Exit 163. Â Turn left off of
exit ramp. At the second traffic light turn left onto College Street.
Turn right on Prince Street which is located between the School of
Engineering and School of Medicine. Turn Left at stop sign.
Parking is available behind the School of Medicine building.
