Licensure Testing and Assessment Rule 135-12-.02 Update:

The Governor signed the Testing and Assessments Rule 135-12-.02

which became effective on September 21, 2017

Before registering for a course to meet the new licensure rule (Board Rule 135-12 Testing and Assessments), which became effective on September 21, 2017:

NASW Georgia Chapter recommends that you review your transcript from the accredited MSW program which you attended. Please know that the course, depending on the school of social work which you attended, may be titled differently. If you believe the course which you took (although titled differently) meets the course requirement, we recommend that you contact the School of Social work you attended and ask if the course you took meets the criteria of a “psychopathology, DSM or other course with similar content.”  ONLY YOUR SCHOOL CAN MAKE THE DETERMINATION – NOT NASW Georgia Chapter.

NASW Georgia chapter also recommends that you keep your transcript documenting completion of the course in a safe and accessible place, in case you are ever audited by the Georgia Composite board (the Board) or requested by the Board to provide proof that you took the course.
