NASW-GA Student Lobby Day Packet 


 

DATE - Tuesday, February 21, 2012.   

TIME/LOCATION - 9:30 a.m. Central Presbyterian Church (legislative workshop/info session); 11:30 Georgia State Capitol (visit legislators, observe House or Senate, self-guided tour) 

AGENDA - The program will commence in the sanctuary at the Church. A legislative workshop will be presented along with information relevant to the 2012 legislative session.  
At the conclusion of the morning program (approximately 11:30) attendees will be on their own to visit the Capitol and/or participate in activities as determined by each school.

REGISTRATION - Pre-registration is required of all attendees!  Students, faculty, and staff planning to attend must register on-line by Valentines Day.  A $5 (CASH ONLY) service charge will be collected on-site for any registrations completed after February 14.  

EVENT PARKING, CAPITOL VISITS, ETC. - Know before you go!  Review the following info sheets and print as needed.

To make the most of this event, we recommend that all participants schedule an appointment in advance. Follow-up with a phone call, e-mail, or letter to introduce yourself and say that you are a voting social work student (or practitioner) and you look forward to meeting them at the Capitol on NASW-GA Student Lobby Day!  Check out the following links for tips:
Other things you may be wondering about - 
  • NASW-GA's 2012 Legislative Agenda is not yet set.  Furthermore, any overviews of pending legislation to be presented during the SLD program will not be determined until closer to the event.  Updates will be posted to www.naswga.org when possible.
  • Food and beverages will not be served at this event.  Please plan accordingly.
